UMF™ can only be used by licence holders who follow UMF™ Honey Association’s stringent Code of Practice
The association appoints independent companies to regularly check licensees’ samples from the marketplace. This helps ensure all UMF™-certified Mānuka honey products are authentic and the of highest quality.
Melora is a member of the UMF™ Honey Association and a UMF™ licensee (licence number #2015), whose quality you can always trust.
The UMF™ grading system has two components that are expressed on any UMF™ honey product.
1. LABEL
To clearly identify it is genuine Mānuka honey.
2. NUMBER
This represents the unique signature compounds characteristic of this honey. These include the key markers of Leptosperin, DHA and Methylglyoxal.

MGO GUARANTEE
MGO is a naturally occurring chemical compound used to measure the anti-bacterial level of Mānuka honey. Because of these studied antibacterial effects, MGO Mānuka honey is used to create products that may support our well-being – medical-grade Mānuka honey is used to aid the healing process of cuts, burns and wounds in hospitals and clinics around the world.
MβTK™ ASSURANCE
Mānuka oil is a naturally occurring product, so its quality can vary significantly. That’s why we’ve led the way for an industry standard and created a quality assurance mark.
MβTK™ stands for natural Mānuka oil β-triketones. As a grading system, it represents the percentage of Mānuka β-triketones present in Mānuka oil, the natural compounds that have been shown to have very high antibacterial properties in scientific research*.
MβTK™ is a quality mark you can trust. It guarantees the strength and purity of the Mānuka oil you are buying and allows you to select the grade of oil best suited to your needs.
When buying a MβTK™-rated Mānuka oil, you can be confident that:
(1) The product you are buying is 100% authentic, produced under the strictest quality guidelines
(2) It contains the levels of β-triketones stated on the label.

The Mānuka Originz™ mark guarantees Authenticity
We believe the best honey is produced by healthy bees, under stringent hive management carried out by our beekeeping experts.
To ensure optimal management, all our hives are fitted with a unique electronic identification tag. The tag is scanned on site and records the GPS location. Our beekeepers then enter actions and details of the hive directly into their phones. This information is captured daily in our central database, giving us the most updated information pertaining to the state of our hives and bees, ensuring we collect Mānuka honey of the finest quality.

New Zealand is a remote, untouched and unspoiled island paradise. From this unique location, exotic and diverse native plant species flourish. Indigenous Mānuka grows in abundance all over our island nation and we carefully select only the finest plants to make our high-quality UMF™ Mānuka honey and high-potency MβTK™ Mānuka oil.
Unique climate conditions are required to produce the highest-strength Mānuka. The soil, climate and ecological environment conditions all combine to create ideal growing conditions.

Fair Share Programme
Our Mānuka honey and Mānuka oil is sustainably sourced from native Mānuka plant that flourishes throughout the remote coastal regions of New Zealand.
We work with the landowners who nurture and guard our precious Mānuka. Our Fair Share Programme is an open and transparent scheme that gives a percentage of the income gained from the Mānuka honey and oil back to the landowner. This directly benefits remote, coastal communities.
